2015: Year In Review

As I sit down to write this summary of 2015, I am touched by the generosity of our donors and the willingness to give of time and resources by so many individuals who make up our volunteer base.

This past summer, Carasmark was able to touch the lives of 1,200 students by giving each one a backpack filled with school supplies for the start of the 2015-2016 school year. Many of these backpacks were packed by volunteers from The Barn Vineyard Church’s youth group in Landenberg, PA and the New Rochelle High School National Honor Society. This year, the Backpack Project was sponsored in part by Strong Insurance Agency, Chris & Sara Fraser, Serenity Software & The Delaware Kids Directory.

Through The Food Project, we were able to provide 36 families with a bag filled with food staples. We look forward to growing this project more in 2016.

Finally, with donations received late in 2015, Carasmark will be able to launch its newest program- The Book Project- which will provide books to elementary students with the goal of fostering a love of reading from a young age.

My family and I look forward to serving our community more through Carasmark in 2016. Happy New Year!
